The Snow Moon Today! 1:20 pm EST
Today is one of those exciting science days. If you missed the Blood Moon this afternoon we can check out the 'Snow' Moon aka the 'Hunger' Moon.
Moon names where given due to their significance for the month. It was the 'hunger' moon to Native American tribes because harsh weather conditions made is difficult to hunt. This moon is now known as the 'snow' moon as one of the most snowy months of the year February. Hehe.
Every 19 years February goes without a full moon. Why?
February is famous for having only 28 days most years except this year is a leap year so we got lucky, this year we have 29 days in February. A lunar cycle is 29 days which cause February to sometimes go without a full moon.
The 'Snow' moon will occur at 1:20pm est. Check out the 'snow' moon tonight!
Can you guess what March's full moon name is?
Enjoy Snow Moon Day,
