K.I.S Keep It Simple for Single Mother

As single mother, things can get pretty overwhelming...Or maybe a little hectic ;)   A few things I have learned being single mother of five children ages 9 and under - KEEP IT SIMPLE.  Going in the store with my children, even for mother's who are not single parent can present it's challenges with children the ages of my own.

For instance, most often when I am in the grocery store I am holding my 3 year old and 19 month old while pushing the cart down the aisle, my 7 year old daughter stops following me because I did not let her ride in the cart with groceries, my 8 year old son asking for everything he sees and my 9 year old trying to read his book and walk (lol - I use to do that too).

Without a grocery list I am completely lost.  Once the cashier asked me my name and for second I could not remember, my mind drew complete blank.  What's my name???  My fourth born did not want me to put him down so I could get my money out of my purse, my youngest wanted to nurse crying and pull my shirt down...and my second born and third born were arguing while my first born was trying to help me with my fourth born so I could pay for our groceries....Boy Oh Boy...My name was, I don't know  hehe

When we lived in Michigan I KIS'd Door to Door Organics.  This was a great idea because it supports the local organic farmers.  I wasn't always able to make to the farmer's market.  I love to support farmers who care enough about our food to not add GMO's (Genetically Manufactured Organisms). I ordered most of my groceries from them online, they delivered them to my door and boy did it help.  Their website also has recipes.  I would browse the recipes.  I was able to make a meal plan which helped tons.  The recipes I would select would show me all the items I needed and put them in my shopping cart for me online. Soooo much SIMPLIER.  I knew I had all I needed for all my recipes and if there was a small item their store didn't carry, it would put it on an organized list for me to take to the grocery store.  Getting a few items in the store was a lot easier than shopping for two carts worth of food.  I love getting the good food for my kids delivered to my door!

In Michigan and San Diego I KIS'd Melaleuca for all my non grocery items such as detergent, disinfectants, first aid, toothpaste, lotions, body wash....Melaleuca is a wellness company with a large product line!  One of Gabriel's doctor's told me Bleach and Lysol were the WORSE products for my son.  Those products have chemicals which cause cancer or help the cancer cells grow.  Gabriel was on treatment at the time and I went straight home and throw out all my bleach based products and lysol (I couldn't give them away knowing they were harmful and bad for the environment.) I went on a prowl to find products without the harsh cancer causing chemicals like formaldehyde which is linked to causing Leukemia.

Most store brands have formaldehyde and other harmful chemicals.  To keep my son cancer free I switched brands.  Someone introduced me to Melaleuca and it made my life Simpler.  I buy direct from the manufacturer.  My products are shipped to me.  The products are concentrated.  No more lifting a heavy huge jug of detergent with my baby in my arms.  The Peace of mind that comes with using great products, safer for my children and cheaper because they are concentrated added more value for this Keep It Simple single mom of five.

It isn't easy being a single mother But I have found ways to KIS some of my worries away and bring more value to my home by using organic and natural products.  While at the same time removing the stress of the in store  CraZIness with my five.  Now I can hold two and have one hang on my legs while walking through the store because most my shopping is done online.  :)

Gotta Luv Keeping It Simple!  Smiles from a Single Mom plus five Angels hehe
