Conversation with Father

A daughter approached her father, knowing in her heart what she was to ask him was indeed something he wanted for her too. Hadn't he spoken of this before? She asked herself, not doubting what he'd spoken. Reassuring herself what she was about to ask for would be approved. She could remember what her father had said. Each step closer to him it became clearer.

When she reached her father, her reverence for him made her fearful of him. As he looked at her, with knowing in his eyes, she knew it was time to ask him. He reached his hand to her to greet her in an embrace. She whispered to her father a quote of his. As she did, her father asked,

"Do you doubt I would give you the desire of your heart?"
"No, I don't doubt you. Maybe I am unsure if it is for me to have it. Or whether I should seek something else. Or ...."
"Do you not trust me?"
"I trust you. I just can't see this as a reality. Everyone is telling me this is impossible. They tell me I should ask you for something more simple."
"Do you believe I can not give your desire."
"No I believe you can. I know you can. Even though my sister lives a distance away I remember you did it for her. So I know you can do it."
"Then do you trust me to give you what I gave to your sister?"
"Well, I trust you. Just each child is different . And maybe it was for her to have it and not me. Maybe she deserved it more than me. Or maybe she worked harder for it."
"Have I ever favored one of you over the other?"
"Well, no..."
"What I have done for one, I can do for all."
"What about timing, when can I have it."
"When you are ready. When I believe it is best for you."
"Then how will I know how to prepare for it. What if it take years? How do I make it that long."
"Don't be anxious. I will give you the desire of you heart. Do you trust me?"
"Yes I trust you"
