Life's Not Fair

Wouldn't it be better to learn this lesson as a kid. It's incredible the amount of disappointment we will have in life. Does this mean we should be depressed? No way! It's only being taught life's fair, which causes depression.

In a country where it is said to have, justice for all. Where children are told if you study hard you'll always pass the test. Or if you work really hard you'll get what you want : the job, promotion, the mate - whatever the outcome is, we desire.

I read something a few weeks ago, "Justice for one is not justice for all." For me, my justice is a desire for a person to become repentant. I only want a person to feel guilty long enough to have an awaking. Then I want them to live free. What's done is done.

I was raped at a young age. One of the men I can not look at because I am still healing. However I did not wish for bad to happen to him. I want him to really have a relationship with God and no longer just do religion (I'll explain what I mean by this in another post.) There is nothing a person can do for me that will equal the pain I felt. The problem with vengeance or wanting repayment for a wrong is that it is NEVER satisfied. So why not focus on healing?

Am I saying a person should have no accountability? No. I am saying once, held accountable a person should be free to spiritually repent and be free to live a fulfilling, meaningful life. It is a promise people will reap what they sow. But what if what a person reaps isn't good enough? It this reminds me of the Jonah's story in the bible. He sooo thought the people of Ninevah should reap God's wrath. When God showed them mercy he was dissatisfied.

Life is not fair. Bad things happen to good people. Sometimes we will work hard and not past the test, not get the promotion we want, not marry the person we thought was perfect for us - not have the outcomes we feel we deserve because we worked so hard. We will see a slacker get a promotion or someone we view as an embical get the person we wanted to marry.

Does this mean we should stop studying, stop working for things? NOOO!!! We should keep chugging along with the satisfaction we did our best. And Even if we don't get what we want we still did the work and we are better people for it. Success to me, should not be measured be physical achievement, it's how we live our lives. How many people do we know deserve rewards but don't get them? Or how many people do we know, if they were rewarded would do better?

Live life saying, No matter what ___________________
